Rain of medals for Italian wines: 9 Grand Gold Medals, 93 Gold Medals and 27 Silver Medals. The great gold medals go to Lombardy which conquers 4, and also 8 golds and 3 silvers; Sicily with 2 Grand Gold Medals, as well as 5 golds and 3 silvers, Tuscany with 1 Grand Gold Medal and 9 Gold Medals, Liguria with 1 Grand Gold Medal, 7 Gold and 5 Silver, and 1 Grand Gold Medal for Molise.
The province of Trento is sold with 19 golds and 3 silvers; the Valle d’Aosta with 15 golds and 8 silvers; the Veneto with 9 gold and 2 silver medals; Sardinia with 5 golds; the Province of Bolzano with 4 golds and 1 silver; Piedmont with 4 golds and 1 silver; Campania with 3 golds and 3 silvers; Abruzzo with 2 golds; Basilicata, Lazio and Calabria with 1 gold medal.
Among foreign countries, Spain is the most medalized nation with 1 Grand Gold Medal, 47 gold and 16 silver medals; while Switzerland with the most Grand Gold medals, 3, plus 14 gold and 4 silver. So Germany won 2 gold medals, 14 gold and 8 silver; while France 1 Grand Gold Medal, 8 Gold and 3 Silver, then Andorra with 1 Grand Gold Medal and 2 Gold Medals.
Many awarded countries: Austria 1 gold medal; Malta 2 gold medals; Georgia 3 gold medals; Luxembourg 2 golds; Slovenia 2 golds; 2 gold and 2 silver medals for Bolivia; Croatia 1 gold; Cipro 1 gold and 4 silver medal; Lebanon 1 gold; Greece 1 gold medal; Slovakia 1 gold; Portugal 2 golds; Macedonia 1 gold medal.
The medals awarded in total were 17 gold medals, 198 gold medals and 64 silver medals. In the three days an international and specialized commission tasted and selected 920 wines of which 442 Italian and 478 foreign, coming from 339 wineries, of which 168 are Italian and 171 foreign.
